I realized something the other day that kind of shocked me: Not a lot of straight men have v necks! It shocked me because v necks are so sexy on a man, it just didn’t make sense. I of course get all of my straight guy friends to get v necks and here is why I think every single man needs this piece in their wardrode
1.) It’s a motherfucking classic: They will never go out of style and when I say never, I really mean it. Justin Bieber was wrong when he said to “never say never”.
2.) They have a slimming effect, if you find the right fit. For chubbier men it takes all the stress on your face away and opens everything up, therefore slimming your body. Unless the tee is too low and reveals some fat in the chest area, but there are v necks that are not that low, you just have to look!
3.) They are versatile. You can wear it with any and every pant that you have. You can pair it with jeans for a laid back day, khakis for a day out, shorts when it’s hot and you can pair it with a blazer for a night out.
So now the question is, how do you find a v neck that fits for your body? It’s easy! Number one is obviously being comfortably, but more importantly a good n neck hits well below your adams apple and well above your chest.
This is how a good v neck is supposed to fit!
Since I work at American Eagle I see the bohemian girl often, and I have become obsessed with it. This is how you rock the bohemian look while also staying true to your personal style.
This girl (I found this on lookbook.nu so I really have no fucking idea who this is) really blends the bohemian style with a personal twist. The vest, leggings and shoes give this look a dark and sexy hipster/vintage vibe while the flower and bold lipstick add sophisticated innocence to the outfit.
But let’s talk about the dress for a quick second: The silhouette and the cut out back. This dress adds structure and shape to your body because of the synched waist while the cut out back adds some sexiness to it. When shopping for a dress you should look for a dress that gives you shape and adds structure in all the right places.
I really do love this girl. This is a picture from Taylor Momsens spread in Elle magazine. Taylor mixes chic pieces, like the dress and the shoes, with her own personal style, like the jacket, sunglasses and the knee high socks. Hands down one of the best looks we’ve ever seen Taylor in.
OOTD: I look like a gap kids model
Ever since I was a little kid, I loved the color red. Something about the color is just so passionate and will make people turn heads. Just when you thought this shirt was the shit due to the saturation of the color, BOOM MOTHERFUCKER: Skye blue lining on the stripes. The only problem I have with this shirt is that its so big on me I have to tuck it in. So I paired this with slim khakis because I didn’t wanna wear jeans but to add some flavor I added a thin belt and a denim jacket from Gap. I may look like a Gap kids model, but I take that as a compliment.
Watch out girls, the male shopper is back! That means no more guys (at least I hope so) dressing like complete shit. Due to the recession male fashion sales plummeted to a serious low, but forecasters predict that by the end of this year male fashion sales will rise to an all time 20 year high. Men aren’t just buying clothes. They’re binging on ACCESSORIES! Bracelets. Necklackes. Wallets. Pocket squares. Rings. Ties. Bags. Sunglasses, etc.
During New York Fashion Week (which I still have yet to even look at, college is so stressful!) men were seen wearing scarves, metal cuffs, fur neckwear, and handbags. I really think this is amazing, I hate how men dress now a days. Looking like smashed asshole will not get you various things including: A job, sex, relationship, friends or anything else that requires you to be good to look at. This trend of looking good comes from Japan and Italy where many men throw on bracelets and scarves and not think too much of it. Here in America it is viewed as feminine, but now designers are altering women’s jewelry design and making it more man friendly. With the growth of street style blogs, men can now get inspired by one click and with another find out where it’s from. With the growth of shows like Gossip Girl and Boardwalk Empire men are also more driven to be “edgier”. According to Jennings of Sacks “Where before wearing a leather jacket and jeans was a way to rebel,” he said, “now you see guys on the fringe, edgier characters, wearing suits and pocket squares and tie bars.”

OOTD: I think I’m lacking color
Ever since Nicki Minaj hit TeenVouge this month, I’ve been obsessed with adding more color to my wardrobe. Luckily I work at American Eagle and get 50% when new merchandise hits, so I bought this outfit! It includes blue dyed, original straight khaki’s (which are hella fucking comfortable I might add) and a bright, thin striped plaid button down shirt. They’re made of a material which isn’t too fancy but isn’t too casual, so I wear it anywhere! I love this outfit, an outfit like this really makes me stand from the crowd. I added some edge with my raybans and leather jacket. I also added a chunky metal watch to to add some sophistication to the outfit. Moral of the story: Everyone needs some color in their wardrobe!
The key to having a good colored outfit is to make sure that A.) The colors aren’t too matchy matchy B.) That they don’t clash C.) That you keep accessories to a minimum and for girls, your make up. Please don’t match your eyeshadow with your skirt, it doesn’t look cute any way you spin it.

Only Jason Wu would have such an extravagant after party during fashion week. The names of the people attending include Michelle Harper, Coco Rocha, Caroline Sieber, the Courtin-Clarins and many others. When asked about what his plans are for the future Jason Wu smiled from cheek to cheek, pointed at his cocktail and told reporters “I showed my collection, I’m proud of it, now it’s time to have some fun!”
Can we also talk about Michelle Harper’s outfit? It’s pure minimalism and is oozing the essence of Chanel. The pastel color of the sweater is very in right now with the winter season.
The best part about this outfit though is the make up and the hair. It’s what makes her stand out from the crowd. The bold lip stick and the tight updo have a strange schoolgirl and geisha vibe to it. I really like it.
